because
between you and me, there's a gap as big as the grand canyon and i'm sure i'm not the only one who notices you don't notice me like you used to.
you never noticed me like i thought that you used to.
and that sucks.

call me what you want but i don't know if i can take it.
i've been cutting down all those nooses i've been making
and i'm trying to get better, yeah to work out all the kinks,
but what's the point in swimming if you're only gonna sink?
one bad word from you and i might drown,
but i'm still trying to keep my head up for now.
call me if you want, but i can't manage expectations.
i don't really know you but i got my imagination
and i bet you could be perfect or at least pretty great,
but all this ideation is just getting in my way.
cause i'm always romanticizing strangers,
and fantasizing ways to make her mine
and i keep agonizing over my delusions
cause i'm too scared to shatter my own lies.
and if i'm ever being honest, it's not that often.
